Service AI Tent
Service Tent 38’ x 16’. Locally designed and built 2 years ago. Constructed from steel and Stokbord for longevity and easy cleaning.
The whole tent will flatpack for transport with 5 vertical sections joined together by hurdles. The John Harvey roof bars are sectional and easily come apart. The tent cover is tensioned by ratchet straps pulling down on steel pipe that runs the length of the cover each side.
Inside the tent is a pre service holding area, two 8’x8’ service areas, two teaser boar pens and a post service holding area.
The system has been very successful on our 1000 sow unit. . We would normally AI two sows at a time in each service pen. Two exit gates on the service pens allow a cotinuous flow of sows after insemination. We also used it for scanning and general pig handling.
There is a shelf for the semen box with a 12V cable running out to a vehicle battery.
The tent has been very well designed and built and will give many years of use.
